Charming Vacation Rental:
An enchanting stay at our château in the Beaujolais region

Are you visiting the Beaujolais region and looking for unique and authentic accommodations? Why not rent an exceptional , charming estate? The Château de Champ-Renard welcomes you to its estate in the heart of the vineyards, in the village of Blacé, located 35 minutes from Lyon and 15 minutes from Villefranche-sur-Saône.

Stay in a beautiful historic setting in one of our two renovated apartments, and—subject to availability—enjoy a tasting of our estate’s wines.

Built in the 13th century, at the height of the Middle Ages, the Château de Champ-Renard has witnessed several centuries of history and undergone several renovations that have altered its appearance while preserving its historic charm.

All that remains from the medieval period today is a single tower, which gives the building the appearance of a fairy-tale castle—an impression enhanced by its pointed-arch windows with mullions and its romantic English-style park dating back to the 19th century.

Converted into a winery in 1768, this historic estate has hosted a number of famous figures—including U.S. President Thomas Jefferson, who was serving as ambassador at the time and was visiting the region to study the French winemaking model.

Today, the castle is open for private events, guided tours of its vineyard, and to welcome tourists to its charming guesthouse, which features two apartments on the first floor.

Ideally located on the Wine Route in the heart of the village of Blacé (discover the route along which the château is situated here), our estate offers you the perfect setting to explore the region, its tourist attractions, and its artisans.

Among the highlights are the excellent gourmet restaurants L’Auberge du Clochemerle, L’Échanson, and Le Faisan Doré, all located within a few kilometers of the château. Would you like to explore some charming nearby villages? Malval and Oingt are just waiting for you! Fabienne Vilain and Denis Garnier, the owners of Champ-Renard, have put together a travel guide for their guests to help them make the most of their stay. Feel free to check it out.
