Château de Champ-Renard welcomes you to its estate for your wedding near Lyon, a 35-minute drive from the Presqu’île. Two large reception halls opening directly onto a stunning English-style park, lounges perfect for the bride and groom’s preparations, and two charming apartments where you can spend the night at the château… What more could you ask for?

For 48 hours, you’ll have exclusive use of the venue and become the hosts of the château. It’s the perfect way to celebrate your wedding in complete peace of mind with your loved ones and make time stand still for an unforgettable, enchanting getaway.

Wedding venues with authentic charm

The privatization of the castle for your wedding near Lyon includes access to our two reception rooms on the garden level: the Salle de Garde and the Salle de Justice. Before being restored in recent years, each of these rooms had served many different purposes.

Thus, until the early 19th century, the Courtroom was where the lord administered low, middle, and high justice. Knights and men-at-arms, meanwhile, gathered in the Guard Room, which also served as a banquet hall, before it was converted into a wine cellar at the end of the 18th century when Champ-Renard became a winery. The magnificent vaulted ceiling and exposed stonework still bear witness to that era. Through the bay window at the back of the room, you can admire our aging cellar, where some of the château’s vintages are aged in oak barrels for 12 to 18 months. Beyond its aesthetic appeal, the bay window ensures, first and foremost, that the aging process takes place at ideal temperature and humidity levels.

The restoration, completed in 2021, was designed to ensure that these historic spaces foster a sense of togetherness and sharing. Wood, glass, and stone dominate the chic yet minimalist design, which the bride and groom can easily make their own when decorating the venue. Each room features sophisticated lighting and is bathed in natural light thanks to its large glass doors.

The Salle de Garde can seat up to 180 guests and opens onto a small, intimate space in the former medieval tower, which you can use for signing the guest book or displaying gifts.

The Justice Hall can be adapted to suit your needs and can accommodate everything from your secular ceremony or reception in case of rain to your dance party or even the next day’s brunch.

The gardens of our estate in the Beaujolais region

When you rent out our château exclusively for your wedding in the Rhône region, you’ll also get to enjoy our beautiful gardens.
Designed in the 19th century by architect Louis Germain, they are the vibrant heart of the estate.
La Charmille is the perfect setting for a secular ceremony surrounded by nature or a reception that can accommodate more than 250 guests. This long avenue, lined with century-old trees, leads visitors to the château and opens onto the 1.6-hectare English-style park. Designed as a series of romantic landscapes, it features a rock-filled bridge spanning an artificial stream that winds its way to a bamboo forest and a giant sequoia. What better place to take your wedding photos or let the children play happily?
When night falls, the castle’s facade lights up, illuminating the esplanade, where you can enjoy a drink while the party is in full swing inside. This large paved area is also ideal for taking group photos, hosting a reception, or setting up tables for a sunny Sunday brunch.

Accommodations and Lounges

Our two apartments, which overlook the vineyards, can accommodate up to 12 people. Located in the two wings of the château’s first floor, they are fully equipped and have been decorated in a timeless country-chic style.

Finally, you also have the option to rent the castle’s reception rooms for your wedding. Located upstairs, they consist of a large lounge furnished in the style of a boudoir, a library, a billiards room, and a smoking room. Before the festivities begin, you can enjoy lunch with your “closest friends and family” (up to 16 people) in the historic dining room or on the balcony terrace, which offers a breathtaking view of the park. This is the ideal spot for the bride and groom to get ready before the ceremony.
