Here’s your chance to spend the night in a place steeped in 8 centuries of history, carefully renovated to offer you all the comforts you need. Treat yourself to an enchanting getaway away from the hustle and bustle of the city, just a 15-minute drive from Villefranche-sur-Saône and 35 minutes from Lyon, and take the opportunity to book a historical tour of the estate, complete with a tasting of our finest vintages.

A stay in a castle surrounded by vineyards

What could be a more idyllic and romantic setting thana night in a castle surrounded by vineyards? The Champ-Renard estate offers you this magical experience.

Built in the 13th century, at the height of the Middle Ages, the castle—formerly a fortified house—was transformed into a wine estate in the 18th century and underwent a series of renovations, including one in the 19th century, which added a hornbeam-lined avenue and a sumptuous English-style park featuring an artificial stream and a small rock-style bridge—elements that have been preserved to this day.

Today, the Château de Champ-Renard, which has been carefully renovated by its owners, offers a comprehensive wine tourism experience that combines tours of the estate, wine tastings, wine sales, and on-site accommodations.

We’ve created two luxury vacation rentals with views of the vineyards—the Appartement du Cocher and the Appartement du Paradis—for a perfectly idyllic atmosphere! The furniture, sourced from local antique shops, has been restored by local artisans, and we’ve taken care to preserve the natural light in each space. With exposed stone walls, hardwood floors, and exposed beams, each apartment will allow you to fully enjoy your stay in the Beaujolais region.

You will have access to our English-style gardens throughout your stay, provided they have not been reserved for a private event at that time. Depending on your availability and that of our staff, we may also be able to offer you a wine tasting.

Two charming apartments with separate entrances

The two charming apartments in our Beaujolais château each have their own private entrance with a key and a digital lock. This means you’ll have complete independence throughout your stay! Each apartment features a spacious living area with a living room equipped with a double sofa bed and an open-concept kitchen.

The Apartment in Paradise

The Appartement du Paradis features a double bedroom with a large bed (160×200 cm) and a bathroom. The Appartement du Cocher, on the other hand, has 3 double bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Each cottage is also fully equipped with appliances: a clothes dryer, a hair dryer, an iron, a dishwasher, and more. You’ll also have access to high-speed Wi-Fi.

The Apartment of Paradise, so named in reference to the first wine drawn from the press before fermentation is complete—since it is located directly above the wine-making cellar where the château’s wines are produced—opens onto a small paved courtyard at garden level with a table and chairs for a coffee break or a sunny breakfast.

The Coachman's Apartment

The Coachman’s Apartment, meanwhile, is located above what used to be the castle’s stables in the 19th century. To honor this history, we have preserved the original saddle and bridle racks.
