Located 35 minutes from Lyon, 1 hour and 50 minutes from Geneva, and 2 hours and 15 minutes from this medieval building constructed in the 13th century, this Beaujolais château has evolved over the centuries without ever losing its character. A medieval structure built in the 13th century, transformed into a wine estate in 1765, and then extensively renovated in the 19th century—when the château took on its current form—Champ-Renard is a place where local and broader history converge, as well as the French art of living.

Once dedicated to the strategic defense against enemies coming from the east and west, Champ-Renard has welcomed a famous royal squire (Jean Agnot) as well as a U.S. president—then serving as ambassador—who was passing through the region (Thomas Jefferson), and its development is directly linked to the winemaking tradition that has made the region famous both in France and internationally.

This history is directly reflected in the architecture of the grounds—from the medieval tower in the Guard Room with its pointed-arch windows and mullions, to our English-style park with its artificial stream, rock-style bridge, and century-old hornbeam arbor.

The interior, completely renovated and furnished to offer you all the modern comforts you’d expect for a business seminar (including free high-speed Wi-Fi), has been decorated to reflect its unique character, blending timeless charm with modernity: polished hardwood floors, exposed beams and stonework, furniture carefully restored by local artisans to preserve its history, and contemporary pieces by renowned designers…

Château de Champ-Renard offers 500 square meters of flexible space for hosting all your prestigious business events: two large reception halls suitable for meetings, training sessions, and receptions; a breakout room on the garden level for small group meetings; and three intimate lounges upstairs for events with up to 40 guests.

Would you like to host a garden party or any other special large-scale event for your employees or clients? Or perhaps organize team-building activities for your teams? Our gardens can accommodate up to 300 people in a magical setting.

By renting out our château exclusively for your seminar in the Beaujolais region, you’ll have the opportunity to create a truly unique event. We’ll set up and equip the reserved rooms according to your needs (screen, projector, pens, etc.) and connect you with our local partners to arrange customized meals and activities.

Finally, renting out the castle exclusively for your seminar guarantees complete privacy, since only one event is held at a time. This allows you to enjoy the venue in complete peace and quiet.
