Champ-Renard:
A venue with a unique history for a romantic wedding

From the lush green hills of the Beaujolais region, in the village of Blacé, 800 years of history gaze out at you from the Château de Champ-Renard… Located about 40 kilometers northwest of Lyon, the ancient fortified castle has changed hands many times and has been home to several illustrious historical figures, such as Lord Jean Agnot, a former squire to the king, who rescued the knight Bayard during the Battle of the Garigliano Bridge, or U.S. President Thomas Jefferson, a connoisseur of the region’s wines, who was hosted by the lord of Espinay de Laye in the 18th century.

From the feudal era, the castle has retained its circular tower, which was once the keep, while most of the rest of the structures date from the 15th century.

A winery since 1765, the estate now produces wines that combine character with respect for the environment.

Above all, its lush and romantic setting makes it a unique venue for a wedding in the Beaujolais region.

Located on the garden level, the vaulted Salle de Garde—built entirely of stone, wood, and glass—is the perfect banquet hall for your wedding. It can accommodate 180 guests for dinner while offering a view of the park and our oak barrels. The adjacent Salle de Justice is the ideal venue for your evening dance party.

The bride and groom will also have the option to get ready in complete privacy with their attendants in our tastefully decorated lounges, which feature a style that is both modern and timeless.

The estate’s owners, Fabienne Vilain and Denis Garnier, along with their team, welcome you and are here to assist you throughout your event to ensure it becomes an unforgettable experience.

For complete peace of mind, you also have the option of coming to set up your decorations the day before, starting at 2 p.m. That way, on the big day, you’ll be able to fully enjoy the moment.
