A stunning winery for your wedding in the Beaujolais region

Located in the village of Blacé, less than 15 minutes from the town hall in Villefranche-sur-Saône, the Château de Champ-Renard offers a customized package for couples looking for a estate to celebrate their wedding in the Beaujolais region.

Built in the 13th century, the Château de Champ-Renard has been a winery since 1765 and still produces its own wines today. The owners, Fabienne Vilain and Denis Garnier, cultivate the 7.5 hectares of vineyards visible from the grounds and produce wines with character while respecting the land and the ecosystem. They and their team will welcome you on site and be happy to assist you with any requests during your stay.

Champ-Renard is truly an exceptional venue for a wedding in the Rhône region: restored over the centuries, our estate has retained its historic character and a timeless charm that give it the look of a fairytale castle. Its medieval tower, mullioned windows, and sumptuous 1.6-hectare English-style park—featuring a rock-work bridge and an artificial stream—make it the epitome of romance.

The castle offers all the comfort and space you need (we can accommodate up to 180 guests for a sit-down meal, 250 for a cocktail reception indoors, and up to 300 in our grounds) and allows you to create a unique atmosphere for your big day in our beautifully decorated rooms.

Our wedding planning services near Villefranche-sur-Saône

Château de Champ-Renard hosts weddings year-round, on weekends as well as on weekdays.

For a weekend wedding, you’ll have exclusive use of the venue from Saturday through Sunday. You’ll also have the option to come set up your decorations the day before, starting at 2:00 p.m.

Our two event spaces: the Salle de Garde for dinners of up to 180 guests and the Salle de Justice for your dance party or cocktail reception, as well as our English-style garden and the century-old arbor.

The castle’s esplanade, where a reception can be held. At night, the castle’s facade is illuminated so you can enjoy the outdoor areas until late into the night.

Accommodations at the castle: two tastefully decorated apartments, each with four double bedrooms, accommodating up to 12 people.
