A magical setting for your wedding near Lyon

Located in the village of Blacé, just 15 minutes from the Villefranche-sur-Saône SNCF train station and 35 minutes from Lyon, the Château de Champ-Renard was built during the Middle Ages, and one of its towers has been preserved. Transformed into a winery in the 18th century, Champ-Renard now hosts weddings and events and produces its own line of eco-friendly wines.

As you push open the estate’s gate, the hustle and bustle of daily life fades away, and you step into an enchanted world, as if outside of time. To reach the château, follow our grand driveway lined with century-old arbors, which leads to our oh-so-romantic English-style park with its rock-work bridge, artificial stream, and bamboo grove. Whether you wish to celebrate your wedding amidst nature, in a fairy-tale setting, or with the refined atmosphere of Jane Austen’s novels, our estate offers the ideal setting, summer or winter.

Inside, our cozy upstairs lounges provide a boudoir-style setting for the bride and groom to get ready, while our garden-level wedding reception halls —all featuring stone, hardwood floors, and glass—allow you to gather your loved ones for dinner and dancing.

In the evening, the castle’s facade lights up, keeping the magic alive until the end of the night.

A comprehensive service for unforgettable moments

We offer the option to rent out the estate exclusively for your wedding in the Beaujolais region year-round.

While the period from May to September is the most popular, a fall or winter wedding also has plenty of charm and will allow you to create a unique atmosphere if you’ve chosen a winter or medieval theme, for example.

You could also opt for an unconventional wedding, held on a weekday rather than on the weekend, as is traditional.

In any case, renting the venue exclusively will give you exclusive use of the space for your event. The “basic” private rental package includes use of the Guard Room and the Courtroom on the garden level, as well as our grounds, where you can take photos, hold your non-religious ceremony and reception, and also relax and take a stroll.

But that’s not all: you’ll also have the pleasure of staying overnight at the château in one of our two charming apartments, decorated in a country-chic style. If there aren’t enough rooms to accommodate everyone who wishes to stay, we’ll be happy to recommend hotels and bed-and-breakfasts just a few minutes from the estate.

Optionally, you can also use our lounges for wedding preparations, a small lunch with your loved ones, or a memorable photo shoot.
