A Tour of the Beaujolais Vineyards: Welcome to Château de Champ-Renard
Discover a winery in the heart of the Beaujolais region
The construction of the Château de Champ-Renard dates back to the Middle Ages, although the buildings have undergone numerous renovations since then and only one tower remains from that era. Converted into a winery in the 18th century, the château subsequently fell into disrepair before being rediscovered by a couple of passionate entrepreneurs in 2014. Today, they offer various guided tour options of the cellars and vineyards in the Beaujolais region.
For example, you can explore the estate from the perspective of its eco-friendly practices before tasting some of the wines produced at Champ-Renard. The imposing, charming buildings and the splendid English-style park provide the perfect setting for a wine tasting.
Visit a castle on the Beaujolais Wine Route
Deeply committed to promoting their adopted region, the owners of Château de Champ-Renard are proud to introduce visitors to the area’s rich wine culture and heritage. The estate is located along one of the routes of the Beaujolais Wine Trail. This tour combines tastings of local specialties, stops at authentic cafés and restaurants, and explorations of the region’s villages and cultural treasures.
The owners of Champ-Renard are also committed to sharing the castle’s history through its various uses: as a vacation home, a seat of justice, a winery, an event venue, and a tourist destination…
