Located in the heart of the village of Blacé, 15 minutes from Villefranche-sur-Saône and 35 minutes from Lyon, our historic estate is surrounded by a 7.5-hectare vineyard currently transitioning to organic farming. We invite you to reserve our 500 m² of flexible meeting spaces for your exclusive use and enjoy the venue all to yourselves.

What is an eco-friendly seminar?

An eco-friendly corporate event is environmentally responsible and organized in such a way as to minimize waste, thereby helping to reduce its carbon footprint. This is especially important when a large number of employees are in attendance or if the event lasts several days.

When you decide to organize your seminar near Lyon at the Château de Champ-Renard, you can be sure that your event will take this key factor into account. We don’t use plastic bottles or coffee capsules here: we use glass pitchers or bottles and coffee makers. Furthermore, if you decide to use our catering partner, Eat Cetera, for your meals, please know that they donate 1% of their profits to organizations working to protect the planet.

But a sustainable event also depends on choosing the right setting. The Champ-Renard vineyard operates using eco-friendly practices and is currently transitioning to organic farming. It produces wines free of animal-derived products, making them as natural as possible. Protecting biodiversity is at the heart of our philosophy for maintaining the estate.

We have replanted trees in our English-style park and are hosting three beehives in partnership with Pollinium, which takes care of their maintenance. Not only do these hives produce honey, but two of them belong to companies that can thus monitor the life of the hive throughout the year and help protect the environment.

From furniture to the renovation of the estate: a sustainable approach

Château de Champ-Renard is committed to a sustainable approach in every aspect: from the renovation of the estate between 2014 and 2021, to the refurbishment of the furnishings, the selection of our partners, and even the organization of activities as part of corporate seminars—we are committed to leaving a positive impact on the world.

Built in the heart of the Middle Ages in the 13th century, the Château de Champ-Renard has undergone various renovations over the years. The most recent renovation was overseen by the current owners, Fabienne Vilain and Denis Garnier. They were committed to working exclusively with local contractors, who once again prioritized recycling and sustainable materials (wood, stone, glass…): lime plaster to restore the vaults, cast-iron balustrades on the balcony, antique streetlamps from the city of Nice, and stone pillars from the castle’s entrance gate.

The thermal insulation was also redone to improve our visitors’ comfort while reducing energy consumption. The antique furniture was sourced from flea markets and customized by local artisans using upcycling techniques. As a result, 90% of the furniture, tableware, and decorative items in the château have been sourced from flea markets and/or customized. Not only does this add character and authenticity to our lounges and meeting spaces, as well as to your seminar tables, but it’s also good for the planet!

Are you looking to book an eco-friendly activity for your team-building event in the Lyon area? The Château de Champ-Renard offers a wide variety of activities in collaboration with its partners to raise your employees’ awareness while fostering team cohesion.

We offer two major eco-friendly activities for a meaningful seminar: The Environmental Challenge (team challenges centered on a single project: planting as many trees as possible) and The Green Project (group discussions on sustainable development and the creation of an eco-friendly artwork featuring your company’s colors).

You can also book a guided tour of the estate with our team, who will reveal the eco-friendly secrets behind our vineyard and our production of natural wines.
