A historic venue for your residential seminars in the Beaujolais region

When it was built in the Middle Ages, Champ-Renard was designed as a true fortified castle, complete with fortifications, a drawbridge spanning the moat, and a keep housed in a medieval tower. The keep is the only part of the original structure that remains today.

Over the centuries, the estate passed from one owner to another until it became the property of the famous Jean Agnot, whose family retained ownership of the château for more than 200 years.

In the second half of the 18th century, Champ-Renard became a vineyard, thanks to the efforts of the Marquis d’Espinay-de-Laye. In addition to this activity, the château served as a venue for the administration of justice until the early 19th century. In homage to that era, one of the rooms is now called the Salle de Justice.

The estate then went through a less glamorous period, during which it was bought and sold by various owners. Vineyard operations came to a halt until 2014, when Fabienne Vilain and Denis Garnier fell in love with this magnificent property!

The entrepreneurial couple then decided to renovate the buildings so they could rent out the château for seminars in the Beaujolais region. At the same time, Fabienne and Denis took over the winemaking operation and gradually restructured the estate’s 7.5 hectares to produce wines suitable for aging.

The Salle de Garde, spanning 200 m², welcomes guests in a prestigious setting. Beneath the skillfully lit stone vaulted ceiling, a spacious area opens onto the boudoir, which has been converted from the former keep. The floor-to-ceiling windows look out onto the landscaped garden.
The adjoining courtroom offers 100 m² of bright space. It extends into a pleasant 30 m² covered area.
The Grand Salon showcases works of art and designer creations. Its beautiful natural light and comfortable furnishings invite you to relax.
The Woodpaneled Room has a unique elegance. The wood lends it warmth and intimacy.
The Gallery, the billiards room, and the Small Lounge round out these spaces, which can be arranged to suit your needs. The elegant setting, tasteful decor, and thoughtful lighting make these spaces ideal for conversation, brainstorming, or relaxation.

The castle also has four charming guest rooms to accommodate participants. The owners can recommend hotels and bed-and-breakfasts in the surrounding area.
