Located on the first floor of the building, they offer a superb view of our vineyard, as well as all the modern comforts you need, whether you’re staying for one night or longer. Fully decorated in a country-chic style that blends tradition and modernity, they’ll let you recharge your batteries in a historic setting between walks in the surrounding area.

A stay in an 8-century-old castle in the Beaujolais region

Château de Champ-Renard was built in the heart of the Middle Ages, in the 13th century. At that time, it was a fortified residence belonging to the lords of Beaujeu and occupying a defensive position. Transformed into a vineyard estate in the late 18th century, it underwent extensive renovation in the 19th century and was adorned with an English-style park featuring an artificial stream and a small rock-set bridge, mullioned windows, and a path lined with hornbeam hedges.

Having weathered eight centuries of history, the building and its grounds have retained their authentic historic charm. Under the leadership of the current owners, Fabienne Vilain and Denis Garnier, the château and its vineyard have been completely renovated and equipped to host events and welcome tourists in exceptional surroundings.

Since 2021, our two charming vacation rentals—the Appartement du Cocher and the Appartement du Paradis—have been welcoming tourists and business travelers passing through the region to a haven of peace and elegance. With the Appartement du Paradis accommodating up to 4 people and the Appartement du Cocher up to 8, these are also ideal lodging options for a weekend getaway or a vacation with friends or family.

Luxury vacation rentals that are fully equipped and tastefully decorated

Our two luxury vacation rentals offer you the chance to spend the night in a Beaujolais vineyard, surrounded by a warm atmosphere that blends rustic charm with the elegance characteristic of the French way of life. With their hardwood floors, tile flooring, exposed-beam ceilings, and a renovation that maximizes natural light, our apartments boast a style that is both modern and authentic. The decor and furnishings—comprising items and furniture sourced from various places and carefully restored by local artisans—lend them a vintage charm and a most pleasant, intimate atmosphere.

Each apartment is fully equipped so you can enjoy complete independence throughout your stay: washing machine, dryer, hair dryer, fully equipped kitchen… You’ll feel right at home! A two-person sofa bed with high-quality bedding is provided in the living room of each apartment. The bedrooms feature large 160×200 cm beds from top-of-the-line French brands. You’ll also have access to high-speed Wi-Fi throughout your stay.

The Appartement du Paradis features a double bedroom and a bathroom with a shower and separate toilet. Located above the winemaking cellar where the château’s vintages are produced, it offers a breathtaking view of the estate’s 7.5 hectares of vineyards. A small paved courtyard has been set up on the garden level with a table and chairs. Here, you can enjoy your breakfast or a coffee break in complete tranquility while admiring our English-style park, which you are welcome to explore at your leisure (provided no events are taking place at the same time).

The Coachman’s Apartment, meanwhile, has 3 double bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. As its name suggests, it is located directly above the castle’s former stables.

Both apartments have a separate entrance with a key or keypad, so you can come and go as you please during your stay in the Beaujolais region.
