Charming vacation rentals nestled among the vineyards on a historic estate

Château de Champ-Renard is a haven of peace located in the heart of Blacé, a small village in the Beaujolais region known for its golden stones. Built during the Middle Ages, the castle boasts eight centuries of history. Originally a fortified house occupied by the lords of Beaujeu, it was converted in 1765 into a full-fledged wine estate. A renovation in the 19th century gave it its current appearance, with its arbour-lined driveway leading to the château and its sumptuous romantic English-style park featuring a small rock-work bridge and an artificial stream.

Taken over in 2014 by Fabienne Vilain and Denis Garnier, it underwent extensive renovations with local artisans to provide all modern comforts while preserving its authentic character. The vineyard, which had previously been neglected, has been revitalized and now produces eco-friendly wines. They are developing a private event package for weddings (starting in 2022) and seminars, as well as a high-end wine tourism program to open the property to the public. The opening of luxury guesthouses within the château allows them to welcome not only tourists but also business travelers passing through the region.

Opened in 2021 following the renovation of the premises, the Appartement du Cocher and the Appartement du Paradis offer guests the opportunity to spend the night at the château in exceptional surroundings. Exposed stone walls, exposed beams, and antique, restored furniture… Our tastefully decorated accommodations feature a warm, inviting atmosphere that will allow you to disconnect from everyday life and recharge your batteries.

Two fully equipped luxury vacation rentals

When you book a stay in one of our two apartments, you’ll enjoy charming accommodations in the heart of the Beaujolais region, complete with all the comforts you need for your stay.

The “Appartement du Paradis” was named after the first pressing of wine before fermentation is complete, as it is located directly above the fermentation room. Ideal for couples, families, or groups of up to 4 people, it also opens onto a small paved courtyard at garden level with a table and chairs, perfect for enjoying a coffee break or a sunny breakfast. It features a double bedroom, a bathroom, and a living room with an open-concept fully equipped kitchen and a sleeper sofa.

The Coachman’s Apartment, located above the castle’s former stables, features three double bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a living room with a fully equipped kitchen and a sleeper sofa. It can accommodate up to 8 people and is ideal for seminars, as well as weekends with family or friends for a special occasion or vacation.

Both apartments offer breathtaking views of the vineyards.
