The vineyard was planted around the estate\u2019s perimeter and gained enough renown that the future President of the United States, Thomas Jefferson, was welcomed there during his visit to the region. A great connoisseur and lover of wine, Jefferson\u2014who was then serving as his country\u2019s ambassador\u2014was studying various vineyards at the time in the hope of exporting French expertise while adapting it to the specific conditions of America.  <\/p><p>After passing through the hands of numerous owners in the 19th and 20th centuries and undergoing a period of inactivity, the ch\u00e2teau was taken over by Fabienne Vilain and Denis Garnier in 2014. They decided to restructure the vineyard and plant new vines with a focus on biodiversity in order to produce eco-friendly, vegan wines with no added sulfites, restoring a rich and complex flavor. Their <strong>Beaujolais wines<\/strong> (Chardonnay, Gamay, and Gamaret) are available for purchase online as well as at the ch\u00e2teau.
